A Leading Light in Mauritius Northfields is one of Mauritius' leading independent international private schools. Set amidst an open and leafy campus in Labourdonnais village, Northfields is one of the most well known schools in Mauritius. We provide an all-round english-medium education for just over 280 boys and girls aged 11-18. Chinese New Year Celebration 2012 |
| | A mixture of upper and lower sixth form pupils were given the opportunity to organise our Chinese New Year's celebrations at Northfields.The event began this morning in the school hall, with Mrs Hung making a speech on the year of the Dragon, which was then followed by teachers and members of the pupil committee reading predictions for each astrological sign.
Students then moved outside, where the Chinese Wushu & Lion Dance Association performed the Lion dance, followed by an demonstration of Kung Fu and Tai Chi in the sunshine.
Amazing costumes, glinting swords, acrobatics, drums and fire crackers ensured that the year of the Dragon got off to an impressive and auspicious start.
